HOURS: She keeps a pretty standard workday at her desk, but can often be found beyond that in the breakroom on her laptop. Occasionally sleeps over but tends to go home by dinnertime. Prone to showing up at 7 PM and leaving 3 days later in some kinda state or being awake doing dumb shit at 3 in the morning.
SKILLS: Mechanical engineering with a specialty in robotics, with knowledge of design, repair, and code. Studies of magic, specifically in relation to innate magic such as the Gods' and data about the Door. Information about the Null and their technology. Also anime. So much anime.
PROJECTS: She is the city's resident Chief Repairperson! If an appliance/robot/electronic device is busted she will make a whole attempt at fixing it. She's also the person who's been working on the Door and the Null the longest, and has most of her notes on both publicly available to lab users on the computer.
WORKSPACE: Set up right in the center of the room next to the supercomputer, Alphys' space consists of one large island-esque desk and a small table with a rolling stool in the center that she scoots between stations. The main desk space is for notes and papers (it is a mess) while the smaller table has a lamp and many fine-precision tools for small scale repairs. Both of these are likely full of small pieces of metal, papers, and trinkets at all times. Closing off her space is a big chalkboard behind her that can be filled with equations and at least one anime doodle at all times. The large desk functions more like a kitchen island, with cabinets all around to give storage space. Two of them on the side she keeps her stool have magic locks on them.
NOTES: She's about 4 feet tall, so that stool often makes her look taller and absolutely has to be lowered and heightened by her when she's on it because her feet nowhere near touch the ground. It's pretty cute actually.
HOURS: Newt is in the lab almost every day, sticking to a rough schedule of 9-10am to 6-7pm, though it's not uncommon for him to lose track of time and end up staying super late or just sleeping there like a creepy science goblin. Any other lab regulars wouldn't be surprised to see him there at any time of the day, really.
SKILLS: Newt's primarily a biologist with a focus on alien life, but he also has a background in mechanical engineering and music engineering. He's been studying Hadriel's monsters for the majority of his time in game, too. He's the resident expert.
PROJECTS: His bestiary is his primary focus right now. He's also been helping with Door research and participated in Sorrow's experiments with the fragments.
WORKSPACE: Newt's workspace is located in the back corner of the lab because his work is smelly and disgusting and no one wants him near the kitchen or the entrance. He's got two tables, one for monster dissection and one that serves as his desk. His monster dissection table is always gross, though the level of grossness depends on how recent the last Door Day was and how disgusting those monsters were. If it's within about a week of Door Day, he's likely got a corpse or two splayed out on the table or in a heap on the floor. Later in the month, he works on preserving notable specimens in jars. His desk is always a disaster of indecipherable notes, diagrams of both monsters and monster-catching apparatuses, and about a thousand dirty coffee mugs that have migrated over from his house or the kitchenette. He has some monster specimens in jars on the shelf near his desk, as well as three jars of Kaiju parts that came in with an item rain, and sometimes he'll have prototype cage parts scattered around too. He's really just taken over his little corner of the lab, sorry all.
NOTES: He's always looking for help with his bestiary project! Feel free to hit me up here if you want in on that.
HOURS: 2-3 times a week, totally at random, as he does not sleep
SKILLS: Engineering, not limited to but obviously specializing a bit in robotics. He is capable of designing and fabricating complicated mechanical devices as well, though in Hadriel the materials for such endeavors are scarce.
PROJECTS: Maintaining and expanding his current memory bank, perhaps making one to offer his brother as well. Also maintaining himself as he's falling apart, seriously: repairing frayed and worn out wiring, trying to waterproof things a bit, tightening loose connections, etc. Lots of robot stuff.
WORKSPACE: Tucked away in a corner, perhaps opposite of Newt because he doesn't mind the smells.
NOTES: DiMA very much wants to be useful/helpful to the city, so feel free to request assistance on literally any project your character might need a hand with.
HOURS: Usually in the morning time, maybe three days a week
SKILLS: Lup's skills lie in magic, both in the actual practice of and in understanding how it works. She's spent her whole life pushing the boundaries of regular magic to allow herself to grow furiously in power. She's also a skilled artificer, which is like taking a non-magical object and imbuing it with magical properties or skills.
PROJECTS: The door!!!! But she also is happy to contribute to Newt's bestiary by bringing in dead things.
ADDITIONS: Lup works at Barry's desk, but likely flops all over Alphys' too. She definitely leaves her notes all over the place and isn't afraid of just remodeling other people's desks for the space she needs to work.
NOTES: Lup doesn't have a problem experimenting on herself or doing other dangerous activities in the lab, so feel free to say she's been caught setting shit on fire or playing with explosives.
HOURS: Three or four days a week for at least a couple hours, usually around midday or just in the middle of the night like a weirdo.
SKILLS: Chemistry and tech junk.
PROJECTS: Mostly keeping his own equipment in working order and mixing up his web fluid. Spider juice. Whatever you wanna call it. He also drags dead monsters in sometimes for Newt's gross hobbies, because he's nice that way.
ADDITIONS: A couple notebooks with detailed notes about his web formula and suits and whatever little side projects he might be working on. Also like a hundred sticky notes. Just all over his favorite table.
NOTES: I'm just sayin, sometimes he has to test his web formula whenever he makes a new batch. Don't be too alarmed if you walk in and someone's just started hanging lab instruments from the ceiling with spider webs, or made a web hammock in the corner, or if there's just a table that looks like Halloween hit it a little too hard with disturbingly realistic web decorations. Don't worry, it'll dissolve in an hour or two.
HOURS: Varies. Usually early mornings - lunch, but can end up being much longer.
SKILLS: Resident Door nerd, occasional explainer of power related things (see notes).
PROJECTS: The Door stuff, mostly! She's more likely to help out others than have her own projects.
ADDITIONS: A series of shorthand notes on how powers work. Lots of random diagrams displaying flows which resemble the circulatory system in humans versus ones which look more like indistinct sparkly clouds.

REGULARS
no subject
HOURS: she's in fairly regularly, learning about robotics with Alphys
SKILLS: learning robotics
PROJECTS: she's still an apprentice
ADDITIONS: no, not at this time
NOTES: Tinya is from the 30th century, so most Hadriel-current tech seems like antiques to her
no subject
HOURS: Four hours a day, five days a week. More frequently after the new monsters arrive so she can help Newt.
SKILLS: Biology! She's also helping with the Door fragments.
PROJECTS: She helps Newt with the monsters and is currently helping to study the Door fragments.
ADDITIONS: None. George keeps a notebook full of notes about what she's been studying, but she takes the notebook with her when she goes home.
NOTES: Being an undead Grim Reaper means she can push herself longer than most squishy humans can.
